Solar X-Ray is a plain English dossier on one residential solar installer. It reports what the public record says: license numbers as published, BBB complaint counts, complaint themes in customers' own words, state attorney general actions with dates, and failure signals from court filings or reporting only.
We report and quote. You decide. This is not a recommendation, not a quote, and not a marketplace. Solar X-Ray takes no installer money and no referral fees, ever.
It does not rank installers. It does not grade installers. It does not say an installer is safe or risky, good or bad. It does not turn a small complaint count into a rate. A count of 3 complaints is shown as 3 complaints.
Test coverage is California, Texas, Florida, and Arizona first, because those states have the deepest published records checked for this test.
Every other state is not yet covered. If a state is not covered, the dossier says so plainly. It never estimates or fills a gap.
"No record found" means not found in the sources checked. It does not mean clean, and it does not mean dirty.
Read one complete sample dossier, for a real installer with a real public record, before you request one for the installer you are considering:
No phone number field. No call booking. No sales call. Replies go from hello@getsolarxray.com, with the dossier attached.
Full installer dossier: $149, one installer, full public-record history in the form above.
Comparison dossiers and Installer Watch are not offered during the validation test. No checkout is built until at least 5 inbound sample requests exist, per the gate.
